Hunting for good wines
?
We
are extremely pleased to be able to offer a limited
quantity of Hunter's wines in Shanghai. For those
who don't know the name Hunter's, it is one of
the most prestigious wineries from New Zealand.
Situated in the heart of the South Island’s
Marlborough district, Hunter’s wines is
one of the regions oldest, having been founded
by Jane Hunter and her late husband Ernie in 1983.
Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc, like that from Cloudy
Bay, was instrumental in creating a New World
definition of Sauvignon Blanc. Jane’s contribution
was recognized when she won the inaugural "Women
in Wine" award at the London International
Wine & Spirit Competition. We have limited
amount of the Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc and
Hunter’s Pinot Noir for sale. Phone 62342249
or email info@rubyred.co.nz to place your order. |

Hunter’s
Sauvignon Blanc 2003 - RMB219
A gold medal winner on several occasions. Herbaceous
overtones add freshness to this unwooded style.
Fragrant gooseberry, lychee and tropical passionfruit
aromas are evident. The very full long palate
exhibits classic sauvignon blanc flavours of gooseberry/melon
and capsicum. It is a wine of intense flavours,
deliciously fresh and crisp, yet showing subtlety
and finesse. |

Hunter’s
Pinot Noir 2002 - RMB260
Hunter’s Pinot Noir is characteristically
elegant. Winemaker Gary Duke used only 20% new
oak, letting the delicate fruit shine through.
The hallmark of a Marlborough pinot noir is charm,
not power or weight, and Hunter's has always been
true to the soil. Savoury and elegant, laced with
wisps of salty bacon, the warmth of the 2002 vintage
in New Zealand adding a little extra sweet fruit.
This is a pinot for salmon, for sautéed
mushrooms, for pink & juicy roast lamb with
garlic and rosemary, or for subtle dishes flavoured
with tamarind.
